Safaa Barakat is an American citizen currently
residing in Central Florida. She was born in
Morocco, to a Palestinian father and a Lebanese
mother. Safaa began traveling the world at a very
young age. She migrated to the USA at the age of 16
and graduated from the University of California,
Davis, with a double major in Computer Science and
Mathematics in 1994. She lived in Dubai for 13 years
where she gave birth to two of her five children,
after which she joined the Central Florida community
in December of 2015.
Safaa is a devout
Muslima and strives to passing the teachings of the
Holy Quran to her children. She now spends most of
her time taking care of her family and enjoys
volunteering for Interfaith and multicultural
organizations. Safaa is:

- Advancement Chair for Boy Scouts of America Pack 20
- Lake County School District Volunteer
- American Islam Clermont Outreach Coordinator
- Steering committee member of FusionFest Project by Downtown Arts District of Orlando
- The designated Quran reciter for Sisters Program at Masjid Tazkiah
